The trip was a humbling experience. It was both a huge blessing and a learning experience.
I, alongside with eight team members, got to minister and serve our Lord in kids ministry, mens ministry, practical ministry (drilling for water well), personal testimony, and got to preach a sermon / gospel presentation.
God moved through His Spirit and lives were touched forever. There is power in the Word and and I saw grown men marvel and melt at the truth.
An eye opener was how hungry and reseptive the local people were to be fed the gospel. Luke 10:2 "The harvest truely is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
The trip was an excellent introduction to hard core missions. The African bush and all its hardships, the elements, no electricity, no water on tap, no telephones, no modern day necessities.
On the team was a 12 year old boy who came on his own (no mom or dad), all the ages inbetween and an 85 year old man. God can and wants to use any and everybody.
We all have a greater appreciation for water. It is the lifeblood of Africa. God offers us Living Water. John 7:38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living Water."
It is always a clear sign of doing the Lord's will when the enemy tries to thwart the Lord's plans and rob our joy; from unexplained illnesses, gremlins in the trailors electronics, to a stye that grew in my eye just as it was my turn to drive. Praise God the battle is already won at the cross of Calvary.
The trip taught me to be more content, focus on the Word and the Lord's will, love and respect one another, work together as a team, boldness, servanthood, reach out to the lost. Mark 16:15 "And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
Prayer request: Please pray for Amos, the local pastor who will be ministering to the local villagers. Pray the Lord continues to guide and protect him.
